Economic Ethics

In the current techno-scientific and economic context, characterized by accelerated processes of globalization, it is still difficult to see how economics and ethics are related. Apart from the misgivings and suspicions that still persist, ethics is seen as playing at best a cosmetic role in economic life, to create a good image or reputation. In the face of this widespread view that sees the economic and ethical worlds as incompatible, this chapter recalls some historical milestones that help us better understand our current situation and discover the irreducible ethical background of the economy.
