Spine Epidural Hematoma
摘要
Spinal epidural hematoma is a rare, but potentially devastating condition. Presentation may include sudden neck and/or back pain, along with possible motor and or sensory neurologic deficits. It is associated with advanced age, female gender, trauma, multiple attempts puncture for neuraxial anesthesia, postoperatively, vascular malformations, anticoagulants, hypertension, and pregnancy. It may also occur spontaneously in a patient with an unremarkable medical history. In the presence of significant neurological deficits, it requires early diagnosis and timely decompression and hematoma evacuation; the key is having a low index of suspicion for anyone with axial pain and neurological deficits.
