Fruit
摘要
The fruits of Rubus acanthophyllos are an aggregation of drupelets. Fruits bear a globose-ovoid shape. The author measured the mean, maximum, and minimum fruit length among 100 fruits. The mean fruit length, width, and weight were 15.17 mm, 15.57 mm, and 2.21 g, respectively. The author measured the weight, width, and length of 100 pyrenes. Mean pyrene length, width, and weight were 3.78 mm, 2.53 mm, and 7.21 mg, respectively. The seed coat sculpturing of R. acanthophyllos has a remarkable series of cell-like compartments. This seed coat sculpturing is unique to this species.
