Agglomeration Environments to Enhance CSR Strategies: A Tourism District Approach Towards Sustainability
摘要
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and its impact on society remain overlooked in the literature. It is time to provide theoretical approaches that result in real solutions for society. The purpose of this chapter is to create a theoretical framework that combines a societal approach to CSR with a relatively novel concept, Tourism Districts (TD). Through the correct management and exploitation of externalities generated in TDs, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in these areas can overcome the traditional barriers that arise when they want to develop their CSR activities, and more importantly, increase the impact of these practices on the local society, reducing the gap between the purposes of tourism SMEs and the real effect on local communities.
