摘要

Sustainability is a global challenge that derives from significant demands in stakeholders’ expectations and involves intensifying social, political, economic, and technological factors to balance environmental, social, and economic interests and concerns. In this context, encouraging green innovation within companies is a mechanism for obtaining sustainable advantages, as well assessing the impact of sectoral technological intensity as a driver of holistic business performance. To address these premises, a multisector empirical study has been carried out in 189 industrial companies in the Valencian Community, Spain. The results indicate that disparities in the technological intensity within the industrial sector have a significant effect on economic, sustainable performance, and the level of green innovation in company principles and policy. This proposal considers the perspective of strategic management; the complementary effects of green innovation and technological intensity in company performance, offering relevant contributions to a more current conceptualization of business outcomes.
