Development of Assertive Thinking in Analytic Geometry Students at the Engineering Faculty of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México: A Case Study
摘要
The Assertive Thinking Skills Development Programme (PDHPA) was created to contribute to the development of students. This chapter presents the conceptual and theoretical foundations, as well as the results of the implementation of the PDHPA to a group of 15 students in their first year of the Bachelor of Engineering degree at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMEX) within the Analytical Geometry Learning Unit, who voluntarily attended the programme. The methodological approach used was qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory. The research found that the students had some of the characteristics of novice learners. Of these students, 13 took the final exam, and 92.3% passed the course. The results show that PDHPA helped the students to transfer the skills obtained in the programme to the Analytic Geometry Learning Unit and thus improve their academic performance.
