Diagnosis of Assertiveness for First-Year University Students at an Education College
摘要
Various studies have been carried out in recent years to determine the relationship between assertiveness and university education and the relationship with multiple factors specific to the educational field, such as academic performance, emotions, teacher-student and student-student relationships, and stress. Likewise, it is imperative to analyse the presence of assertiveness in future teachers because teachers are models to be followed by the students. The methodology of the present study is cross-sectional, quantitative, and based on the positivist paradigm. The objective is to analyse the conditions and dimensions of assertiveness of future education professionals as well as profiles in the social area. It was found that, in general, the students show an intermediate level of assertiveness, showing strengths in the dimensions of effectiveness and saying no to requests; however, they are not usually assertive in expressing disagreement with situations in general or directly related to the training field.
