摘要

The morpho-structures on Ceará State result from the break-up of Pangea in the Middle Cretaceous. The relief that developed later has notable erosive surfaces resulting from the denudation that occurred throughout the Cenozoic. The denudation happened in terrains of different ages and lithologies with various degrees of deformation and metamorphism, producing residual forms resulting from differential erosion over different structures, which are the expression of processes associated to crustal deformation, metamorphism, plutonism, and neotectonics. These processes are responsible for the presence of denudation forms, aggradation forms, and circunsdenudation forms, distributed in crystalline rocks, sedimentary basins, and sedimentary deposits.
