Elasto-Plastic Finite Element Simulations

This chapter presents an introduction to the integration of the elasto-plastic constitutive law in the context of the finite element method. The different concepts are described in detail for one-dimensional problems and only afterwards generalized to the multiaxial stress state. In the context of numerical approximation methods, the so-called predictor-corrector methods are used to integrate the material equations.
