Yield Conditions

The plastic constitutive relationship is based on three fundamental equations, i.e., the yield condition, the flow rule, and a hardening law. The focus of this chapter is on the yield condition and its representation based on stress invariants. Four different yield conditions, each represented by a different constellation of invariants, are discussed, i.e., von Mises, Tresca, Drucker-Prager, and Willam-Warnke.
