Total Absorption Gamma Spectroscopy Basics

In this chapter the basic concepts of the total absorption gamma spectroscopy technique are introduced. Following the introduction, a brief description of the historical development of the technique will be presented. Later, the main challenges that need to be faced and an introduction to the analysis formalism are given.
