Introduction to Beta Decay

In this chapter the basic concepts of the beta decay process will be presented. First a brief historical background is given. Later the basic relations of beta decay and the Fermi theory of beta decay are introduced. The beta decay of \(^{24}\) Na is then presented as an example. Finally the Pandemonium effect is introduced.
