Clinical Untargeted Metabolomics

Clinical untargeted metabolomic profiling identifies the relative levels of small molecules in biological fluids to comprehensively interrogate the metabolic status. This high-throughput screening methodology offers opportunity to evaluate metabolic pathways that may not otherwise be assessed in other clinically available tests. Beyond screening, untargeted metabolomics may be used for biomarker discovery and to monitor disease treatment. When integrated with genomics, metabolomics provides a precision medicine approach to diagnosis of rare diseases.
