University: Teaching and Research for Women

This work intends to underline how a stereotyped vision of the female world and capabilities still influences women's roles in the labor market, from the choice of specialties in which to graduate to the real possibilities that arise within the enrollment in academic ranks of the University. For this reason, the four speeches building the paper intend to offer an insight into the role of women by analyzing the lack of participation in studies of STEM subjects; the difficult relationship with a University that still approaches with a male mentality; the need to find teaching methods and strategies that are able to overcome an "obvious" way of seeing the world of female study and work and offering, finally, a review of statistical data relating to the role of women in the STEM student world and in building labor market.
