Quality Education and Development
摘要
In this paper, we argue about the importance of education linking it to investing in human capital from the perspective of Agenda 2030 indicators. The paper tries to monitor educational issues and trends and suggests a policy implication to facilitate the achievement of the UN Agenda 2030. We took Italy and Lebanon as a case study to see their performance in SDG 4 (Inclusive and Quality Education), as we take SDG 4 to measure the level of human capital and economic growth in the country. The aim is to answer the research question “How can quality education and long-life learning set up a country that is able to look forward?” To answer it a quantitative analysis was performed. Moreover, due to the high limitation in data, I built my own dataset on during this research based on two considerations: 1. A modification of the educational curriculum is needed, 2. Education is a matter of quality and not quantity of years spend. The data analysis was used to test the effectiveness of the education system in a sample of 35 countries including Lebanon and Italy.
