Schizencephaly
摘要
Schizencephaly is defined as “Abnormal slits or clefts in the brain hemispheres”, these slits cause brain development to be abnormal and they may be caused by genetic causes or multifactorial causes. This malformation has many complications like seizures, abnormal development, mental retardation and paralysis. It may be associated with other malformations like microcephaly or hydrocephaly. The severity of the malformation can determine the signs and the symptoms and also the management protocol. Mostly, the management includes only symptomatic treatment. This malformation is extremely rare and has not been described or studied well in the medical literature.
