General Introduction to the Congenital Brain Malformations
摘要
Congenital brain malformations are presented at birth as a result of abnormalities or defects in fetal development during the embryological stages. The brain is the main center that controls almost all of the body, so, any defect involved will have wide consequences in the short and long term unless they are treated. Almost all congenital brain malformations need surgery to be corrected and to prevent neurological damage from progressing. Some of these malformations are common like microcephaly, and anencephaly while there many of them are rare or have been seen only several times worldwide. This book is talking about these malformations from the clinical and the surgical aspects and gives the way of stabilizing and managing them properly and preventing their progression especially since the neurological damages that come with them are permanent and cannot be managed easily.
