The Sexual Life of the Ancient Greeks

This chapter describes a famous hetaera pleasing a symposion’s attendees by dancing and offering sexual pleasures, to the one, in whose honor the symposion took place. More general, the chapter reveals various aspects of the sexual life of the Athenians, such as the sex life of men and women, the sexual principles and habits, and the issues of prostitution, paid courtesans’ services, homosexuality, and pederasty.
