摘要

This chapter deals with the variety of goods that foreign merchants could access at the Athenian market and the port of Piraeus (such as fabrics, pottery, and books). The fact that the port of Piraeus had become the international entrepôt of the Mediterranean made it possible for Athenian and foreign merchants to have direct access (through the ports of Piraeus and the Agora of Athens), to every product, from the well-known world of the time.
