Hot Button Topics: Can We Talk About Sex, Politics, and Religion?

In this chapter, we continue to utilize a social constructionist framework to explore how interracial and intercultural couples co-create meaning related to sexuality, political alignment, and religiosity. Within romantic relationships, communication is one of the primary means of maintaining healthy bonds. Within interracial/intercultural couples, direct communication becomes key not only with relationship navigation but also with racial, cultural, and religious differences.
