Metric Spaces

In the previous chapters, we have introduced the concept of topological space, as well as a variety of concepts related to proximity. Following our program, we now ask for those transformations between two spaces that map the notions of vicinity from one space into the other. These transformations are the continuous maps. Once the concept of continuity is given, our task is to explore how these maps behave with the topological concepts that were already defined.
