Myth
摘要
If it is difficult to identify archetypes, it is probably even more difficult to name them, because they are situated at a deeper, more archaic level of psychic life than that of language. I call this level mythical, not by alluding to constituted narratives, but to primordial images (sound in particular), suitable for generating mythologies. I propose in fact to reserve the term “myth” for the archetypal, pre-linguistic, pre-theatrical, pre-musical level, etc., and to speak rather of mythology when the myth is organised in discourse or in other significant forms.
