When I was introduced to the joys of set theory as a high schooler and learned of the Continuum HypothesisContinuum hypothesis, I was immediately hooked: ‘surely such an obvious and natural question must have an answer! But even the fundamental assumptions of mathematics aren’t enough to settle it one way or the other.
