History of Andean Civilizations
摘要
AtAndean civilizations its apogee, the Inca empireInca empire was immense. Its power extended over a strip of territory more than 4000 km long, covering a major part of the current states of Ecuador, Peru, Chile, and certain regions of Argentina and Bolivia. The influence and prestige of this amazing civilization was felt far beyond the limits of the conquered territories and even reached Panama and Brazil. It is interesting to retrace the main stages of the formation of this very real and geographically extensive military power, bearing in mind that the empire that the Spaniards found when they arrived in these regions was in fact fairly recent, since the imperial period only dates back to the fifteenth century. This civilization, however, was largely dependent, in certain respects, on the artistic and architectural contributions of previous cultures which had flourished over the centuries in the different regions of present-day Peru (von Hagen & Le, 1979; Bauer, 1992).
