Magnetic Tape Head Tweezers for Novel Protein Nanomechanics Applications

Over the past few decades, magnetic tape heads have been perfected to allow for the application of strong magnetic fields that can be modulated at very high frequencies, meeting the technological demands of high-density magnetic recording. Hence, exploring their implementation in modern magnetic tweezers force spectroscopy seems like a natural approach. Here, recent developments in magnetic tweezers instrumentation related to the use of magnetic tape heads will be reviewed.
