Hand and wrist injuries are common in athletes and those who engage in repetitive motions. Carpal tunnel syndrome is a prevalent entrapment neuropathy of the median nerve at the wrist level, which causes numbness and paraesthesia in the fingers. De Quervain’s tenosynovitis, intersection syndrome, extensor pollicis longus tendon rupture, extensor carpi ulnaris tendinitis, and subluxation are common wrist tendinopathy conditions that vary in severity among athletes, which could be effectively treated conservatively in most but require surgical intervention in some. Each of these diseases has unique clinical features, diagnostic criteria, and treatment options, both conservative and surgical. In this chapter, we provide a comprehensive review of the pathophysiology, pertinent surgical anatomy, clinical diagnosis, and management of these conditions. The latest advances in the field, including minimally invasive surgical techniques and emerging therapies, are also explored.

摘要
