Treatment of Articular Cartilage Injuries
摘要
The poor healing ability of cartilage damage after trauma is well known. The goal of all cartilage lesion treatments is to partly stabilize the injury so that it does not progress, and then, if the damage is deep, also to repair it by inducing a cartilage healing tissue. Bone marrow cells, chondrocytes expanded in vitro to increase cell transplant number, autologous or allogeneic cartilage fragments, and osteochondral auto- and allografts may be used. The size of the damage determines which method that may be used. Sometimes you also have to unload the injury area with an osteotomy. This is a presentation of methods available to treat damaged cartilage in the 2020s.
