The Origin of Gamma Rays
摘要
This chapter presents the production mechanism for gamma rays and X rays that are important in nondestructive assay measurements of nuclear materials. Characteristics of nuclear decay processes that produce gamma rays are presented. Typical gamma ray spectra from nuclear materials are shown along with gamma ray product reactions.
