The Role of Nondestructive Assay in Safeguards, Security, and Safety
摘要
This chapter defines nondestructive assay (NDA) and discusses the application of NDA to support nuclear safeguards, security, and safety. International safeguards is applied at the facility level, state level, and used by international and regional authorities. The nuclear material accounting and control system which heavily relies on NDA is a system to enhance nuclear security. NDA also directly supports nuclear security through detection and assessment of radioactive material found out of regulatory control. NDA techniques supports criticality safety and compliance by through holdup and waste measurements.
