Navigating Academic Challenges and Psychological Well-Being: A Study Among Students of HEIs Amidst COVID-19

COVID-19 pandemic has devastated the entire education system of the globe. Academic institutions have faced an immense challenge about teaching and learning process in lockdown phases. Students often face a multitude of psychological stresses in the form of sleeplessness, heightened anxiety, feelings of frustration, and struggles with maintaining concentration on their academic pursuits. Therefore, the present chapter aimed to investigate and navigate the educational challenges as well as psychological well-being of students in higher education. A total of 570 students from higher education institutions adopted the snowball sampling method. The models of Multivariate Ordered Logistic Regression (MOLR) were run for envisaging predictors of challenges and psychological well-being among students of higher education. Fourth of ten participants (40%) were academically moderate satisfied amidst COVID-19. Literally, 41.4% respondents perceived a higher psychological stress in their academic careers. The chapter highlights a pronounced adverse effect of COVID-19 on students’ academic satisfaction as well as psychological well-being. The chapter suggests that it is necessary to improve the technology infrastructure and develop a new strategic model effectively to navigate such unexpected situations. The chapter provides valuable insights, suggesting the need for more in-depth research on this critical issue.
