Embryology and andrology laboratories store reproductive tissues such as oocytes, embryos, sperm, and ovarian and testicular tissues in the liquid or vapor phase of liquid nitrogen. Good laboratory practices are mandatory to guarantee safe and reliable cryostorage. This chapter is a practical guide describing infection prevention methods as well as maintenance protocols for short- and long-term cryostorage using dry shippers or Dewars and cryotanks.
