Stroke and Endocarditis
摘要
We present a case of infective endocarditis causative of ischaemic stroke. Stroke associated with endocarditis is a high mortality state and if not recognized and managed appropriately can worsen outcomes and lead to death. The presentation can be insidious and a high index of suspicion should be exercised in immunocompromised or patients considered at higher risk of developing infective endocarditis. We discuss the association in detail with clinical and imaging findings. Specifics of management are also discussed. Both clinic and radiological key learning points have been highlighted.
