Thalamic Infarct and Beyond

This case presents the opportunity for discussion of thalamic strokes and all the ways in which they present. The thalamus plays a central and active role in modulating and integrating the motor, sensory and cognitive functions making clinical presentations varied and sometimes difficult to recognise. Thalamic strokes can also present with disorders of wakefulness with prolonged reduced consciousness impacting on rehabilitation and recovery.
