摘要

We present a case of haemorrhagic stroke secondary to longstanding Human Immunodeficiency Virus infection and hypertension. We describe the clinical presentation of this patient, in addition to the results of the biochemical, microbiological and radiological investigations conducted during their admission. Through this case report, we provide a brief snapshot of key considerations for a clinician managing both ischaemic and haemorrhagic stroke secondary to HIV infection. We make particular reference to HIV vasculopathy, in addition to other key aetiological drivers of stroke in this patient cohort. We also highlight the salient radiological findings that may provide supportive evidence towards HIV as a contributing factor in the case of a cerebrovascular event.
