Balloon to Brain Bubbles
摘要
Cerebral air embolism during air travel is an extremely rare presentation. To our knowledge, all reported cases with pulmonary air bulla failed to recognize a direct connection between the bulla and the systemic circulation. We report a case of cerebral air embolism that resulted in bilateral hemispheric stroke where a direct connection between pulmonary bulla and systemic circulation has been identified on computed tomography scan (CT) of the thorax. The patient has made a good recovery following the stroke.
