Slinky Effects with Discrete and Distributed Delays

This chapter expands upon the discussions in Chaps. 4 and 5 by utilizing mathematical models with discrete or distributed delays to study slinky effects in traffic flow. As broadly discussed in the literature, slinky effects pertain to cyclic signals propagating in a group of vehicles, with growing amplitudes.
