摘要

This chapter scrutinizes what is justice in a technology-driven society in which communities are inundated with, and increasingly rely on, big data and automated and computational processes. Visibility, presentation, and recognition of individuals and groups who seek justice are challenged by algorithmic decisions, creating a heightened risk of blurring and obscuring struggles for justice instead of accounting for, and addressing, them. While the use of technology to engage justice-seeking efforts can be a valuable tool, it needs to be managed with caution so that the perception and legitimacy of struggles for justice are not rendered invisible.
