Pedoclimatic and Landscape Conditions of Italian Olive Groves

The Italian territory is characterized by a large variability in climate, landscape, contour, and soil. The context is highly heterogeneous, and olive cultivation, particularly in the South-Center but almost everywhere, since thousands of years, is highly diversified. It is therefore difficult to define a single “olive cultivation model” for Italy.
