Handover Management Scheme in Macrocell-Femtocell Networks

摘要

The deployment of Femtocell is considered as one of the most important solution for increasing the capacity and the coverage of the wireless networks. Femtocells are short-range, low-cost and low-power access points designed especially for Home and small organization. As the number of user equipment is increasing every day so the existing networks are unable to provide a high data rates. So Femtocells play a key role to offload the data traffic from Macrocell. The mobility in the presence of Femtocells is one of the most challenging issues owing to the dense network layout, the short cell radii and the potentially unplanned deployment. In this paper, we present a new Handover strategy in Femtocell. Unlike the traditional algorithms, the potential reduction of the service capacity due to failures are considered as well as various performances parameters such as total time transmission and throughput. To evaluate the performance of our Handover management scheme, the simulation results are compared with traditional algorithms. The simulation results show that the number of Handover is considerably reduced and the system performance is improved.
