Efficient Numerical Implementation Strategies via Sparse Representations and Compressive Sampling

In Chap. 8, various efficient numerical implementation strategies based on sparse representations and compressive sampling concepts and tools are developed. Specifically, appropriate efficient expansions for the response joint probability density function are employed based on multidimensional global bases, whereas the sparsity of the expansions is exploited, as well, for decreasing the overall computational cost. The chapter concludes with various examples with distinct features for assessing the performance of the WPI technique.
