Peculiar Lesions Associated with Spermatic Cord Torsion
摘要
While fibrosis associated with the presence of hemosiderin-containing macrophages and dystrophic calcification are the most frequent findings in old torsions of the spermatic cord from birth to puberty, other types of lesions may develop in untreated torsions during puberty and in adulthood. The most frequent are lipomembranous fat necrosis of the spermatic cord, pseudosarcomatous periorchitis, and lymphoma-like orchitis. These types of lesions undergo significant morphological changes over time that make for interesting differential diagnoses. The first with other reactive or inflammatory processes and the other two with different malignant entities.
