摘要

Nanoparticles have gained significant attention recently for their potential applications in diagnosing and treating infectious diseases. Their unique properties, such as their small size, large surface area, and tunable surface chemistry, make them promising tools for targeted and effective approaches in disease management. This chapter aims to overview the role of nanoparticles in infectious disease diagnosis and treatment, current challenges, and future research possibilities. Infectious disease diagnosis with nanoparticles has various benefits. Their tiny size facilitates the targeted distribution of diagnostic chemicals and enhances tissue and cell penetration. The attachment of certain targeting ligands is made possible by surface changes, which makes it easier to identify pathogens and make a precise diagnosis. Treatment-wise, nanoparticles have demonstrated tremendous promise in the fight against infectious illnesses. Nanomedicine offers an innovative tool for combating the high rates of resistance. Research in this field is ongoing, and the application of nanoparticles for diagnosing and treating infectious diseases is an exciting area of scientific exploration. This chapter compiles it all effectively to facilitate research and related works.
