African–Asian–European Cutaneous Leishmaniasis
摘要
Cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) is a neglected tropical disease, endemic in 89 countries extending from the tropics to subtropical and temperate regions. In non-endemic countries, CL is a common dermatosis in returning travellers and migrants, however diagnosis and management can be challenging. In cases of imported CL, the travel history is essential in suspecting the diagnosis and helps to decide on the most appropriate treatment. This chapter introduces cutaneous leishmaniasis and provides a review of African-Asian-European CL (previously Old World CL) with a focus on clinical assessment and management in the returning traveller.
