Sporotrichosis
摘要
Sporotrichosis is a subacute or chronic infection caused by the fungal genus Sporothrix. This fungus is classified into two clades. Clade IIa includes isolates from the Americas. Clade IIb isolates are restricted to South America. Its distribution depends on exposure, regardless of race or gender. The zoonotic disease became a public health concern of international proportion. The thermo-dimorphic ability from Sporothrix spp. is perhaps its most important virulence factor. The clinical manifestations are divided into cutaneous (localized and benign form) and extracutaneous disease (usually disseminated). The hypersensitivity immune response to the fungus occurs mainly in zoonotic sporothricosis. The diagnostic gold standard is the isolation of the fungus Sporothrix spp. in mycological culture. Drug treatment with itraconazol demonstrates good therapeutic effects Images.
