Listening to Agentic and Activist Acts
摘要
This chapter shows embodied experiences that recognise a correlation between listening and transformational power. Through this chapter on listening, I recognise that it is my business to be an agent and an activist. I bear witness to the work of an agentic community which worked to prevent suffering. By listening to the courage and poise of a classmate in my undergraduate university studies, I heard about oppression, and I began to shift to take agency and be an activist. I listened, and I was awakened to the presence of whiteness and postcolonial knowledges in structures that underpinned the formation of my personal and professional assumptions.
