Models of Reflective Practice, Crystallising Conscientização, and Writing Mystories

This methods chapter shows the three-phase method of critical reflective practice that underpins The Crystallizing Teacher. Rejecting formulaic templates and embracing creativity, curiosity, and criticality, The Crystallizing Teacher is embodied and performative research that draws on Gillie Bolton’s through-the-mirror writing. The three-phase method includes (i) gathering artefacts and reclaiming stories, (ii) artful representations and development of mystories, and (iii) reflexivity, reflections, and collegial conversations.
