摘要
Obelisks, statues, fragments and various objects that had already been brought from Egypt to Rome in antiquity were regularly found during construction work in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. Ancient Egypt was therefore primarily experienced and interpreted by means of ancient artifacts found on Italian soil. Venice and Egypt, however, have been closely linked in religious and economic terms since late antiquity, which created different conditions for the reception of Ancient Egypt.
