Enhancing Academic Development Work to Eliminate the Ethnicity Degree Awarding Gap: Integrating the CSCS into Institutional Plans

This chapter describes how the CSCS helps to advance an existing framework to addressing the ethnicity degree awarding gap (EDAG). The authors, who are members of an Academic Development and Inclusivity (AD&I) team, describe their positionality, theoretical perspective, and critical interaction with the work. The authors share a model of academic development for anti-racist and inclusive practice which provides the structure for this chapter (see Fig. 6.1). For the Culturally Sensitive Curriculum Scales to have an impact, a framework to support meaningful integration is required.
