Introduction

We invite you to join us and fellow educators on our mission to promote educational justice. We know systemic inequality and inequity are features of higher education (HE) globally. We also know these inequalities are reproduced in HE curricula. We see an urgent need to address these inequalities and inequities. In particular, there is a growing call for more culturally and racially inclusive curricula (Peters in Dismantling race in higher education: Racism, whiteness and decolonising the academy, Palgrave Macmillan, 2018; Shahjahan et al. in Rev Educ Res 92:73–113, 2022). But we have heard—time and again—that educators don’t know where or how to respond to this call. That is why we have put this volume together. We want to support you on your journey.
