Establishing the Research: An Ethnographic Approach
摘要
This chapter outlines the ethnographic methodology used to explore the complex lives of single mothers in Thailand. It details the research design, which includes participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis of government policies and NGO reports. The chapter discusses the researcher's roles, reflexivity, and positionality and highlights the importance of understanding single motherhood through an intersectional lens. The ethnographic approach allows for a nuanced exploration of the stigma, health issues, and social exclusion faced by single mothers, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of their experiences within the Thai context.
